SAN FRANCISCO — Now, the prudes in government are waging a war on nudists.
Earlier this week, extreme right wing San Francisco Board of Supervisors member Scott Weiner (sp?) re-introduced a measure which would strip nudists of their civil right to be nude in public - even in fairs, festivals and parades.
They tried to pass the measure twice before, but failed. Now, they tried to pass the measure in secret.
And now, they are hearing from angry constituents, who have been having nude-ins to protest this radical, un-American measure that is being pushed by a rather odd coalition of self-appointed moralists and LGBT people.
Included in speaking out against Mr. Weiner’s unprecedented attack on our freedom is former San Francisco mayoral candidate, George Davis.
And now, there is an official protest against Mr. Weiner and his radical right wing law that will happen on October 20 - two weeks from today. Here is the bulletin:
As many of you have heard, San Francisco Supervisors have been discussing a ban on nudity in San Francisco. Although they say it would not include events like Pride and Folsom, it would include public transportation which many would need to use to get to these events.
It would also ban anyone wearing chaps or jock straps in public or showing any genital exposure.
The bill is to get rid of the nudists who walk around Castro, but we have to consider several things. A) People are and should be entitled to live their lives the way they want. B) San Francisco has always been the city where you can let your freak flag fly without any judgement. C) Nudity is not something that should be covered up and the human body is not something that we should take shame in (regardless of who is exposed).
I am glad to see people speak out against this attack on our freedom on social media.
Also, this attack on our freedom has spawned a change.org petition that has nearly 1,200 signees. It needs 23,818 signees.
If we don’t stand up for the rights of nudists like myself, then there will be no limits to government attacks on the freedoms of the people.
Refuse to be silent while nudists’ rights are being attacked. Speak out against the attacks on nudists’ civil rights now - no matter where you live!
And if you are a resident of San Francisco, use your right to vote on November 6 to get rid of Scott Weiner and all others who support this radical proposal!
